EJ Swap w/ EA81 A/c
I have an 84 GL Wagon with good a/c and all and would like to keep it if at all possible with my EJ22 swap. What all would be needed to accomplish this? Sorry if this has been asked before but the search button isn't very nice to me.

What is the difference between a regular Subaru Legacy wagon and OutBack wagon?
newsoobdude replied to WickedV6's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXThe 96 and newer Outbacks have a body lift per say as all it is is spacers between the body and subframes to keep the axles in "good" geometry. Mind you that is for the Average Person that does squat with modifying their ride and want "the best" from the factory. A LOT of people have used Outback struts and springs (springs are the same regardless of Outback or Legacy from what I've heard, it's all the strut) without using the spacers and have had NO problems and a few people have taken their 96 and newer Outbacks and replaced the struts with factory GT struts (hence LOWERING their Outback) without removing the "body spacers" and have had NO problems. Check out SL-i.net and find Sybir (honestly don't recall if he's on this board but he's also om NABISCO too) and talk to him about his lowered Outback and his axle life if you're really concerned. Here is a pic I have of a factory Outback vs a Legacy with Outback struts/ springs and tires. Notice the difference in ground clearance.

Any brake on doin a set of heads too?

Skid plates design
EA81 with EJ22 and 6inch SJR lift and EA81 with EA81 and 4inch SJR lift would be my choice skids. Possibly also an EA82 with EJ22 and SJR 3inch lift.

Nice score!!! I was looking at that one too but don't have the space for another ride at the moment. That and being a section job I was a little skeptical on it. Good to know it was done correctly and still has the same structural integrity as a stocker. So you're going to do an EJ swap, anything else good?

Walker Pics from today!!!!

1st time Subaru - Which one should I get (BOTH PRE-1986!!!)
I'd go for the 85 N/a 5spd model provided it's 4wd. If ya need more power than it has, you can ALWAYS do an EJ swap down the road and have 130 hp. Gotta love living in parts that are NOT CARB counties (I live in one too:banana::banana:) and thus will be doing an EJ swap on my 84 when I get done with my other cars and then a 30R swap into my Outback after that.

Subari?
X A LOT. This has been a dream of mine and a possible doin once I get my BRAT and everything else done. I already have the Wagon it's just a matter of time, $$$ and sense (short on that one).

Messing With Factory Intake Setup?
newsoobdude replied to JT95's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXGranted you have an Impreza and I have a Legacy but I found that going the e bay intake route to the stock airbox was the BEST mod I've done for sound and upper rmp gain. The intake was for an 01 RS and had to be modded (read shortened) to work with the stock airbox but well worth it. I also took the inner fender snorkus out and plugged the hole with an RS blockoff plate. While your modding everything and have your air intake off, you might want to go ahead and do the TB Bypass mod as well, it really made the throttle response crisper. Also gives a nice throaty growl with the intake and stock exhaust.

anyone have the pics of the xt6 with toy axles?
- How's it look?
Nice BRAT!!! Eventually I'd like to have mine looking like that. Don't recall, but how'd you manage a free BRAT? I thought I scored with mine by trading an EA82T drive train with air shocks, minus rear disks.- DR Shifter linkage pics?
Since I don't have any pics of the linkages I can at best describe what it should look like. On the drivers side of the trans up near the bell housing is the lever for the hi/ low part of the diff. That will go back about mid way to the rod that goes through the trans the 4wd activation point) on the top at ruffly the back part. Then you have the "Z" part that is slid on and bolted to have the rod now on the passenger side. Then you have the rod that bolts to that with the sideways pin in the end (if I remember correctly) for the 4wd lever to attach. You should look to make the hi/ low actuate separate from the 4wd if you want. http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/showthread.php?t=66608 is a section but unfortunately s'ko's pics are down (s'ko? s'ko?). Not to hard to do but unfortunately I gave you my pieces before I could finish the mock up but will be getting more and I don't have pics of the correct way to do it. But long story short it should go something like _____i------. Good luck- Documented: The 1970 FF-1 Project car...
1, 7, or 15 are my top choices. White looks killer alone but dig the tu tone- 91 Legacy 4" lift Build
:slobber: . NICE!!!!!!!!!! Add a little sawzall work to the 'wells and it'd be perfect. Rock on:headbang:- New Gen Headlights....Rate yours
newsoobdude replied to keltik's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVX1998 Outback. Have stock lighting and found that if I adjust the light higher up (1 turn) I have better visibility. I live in BFE, CA out in the sticks and streetlights are non existent and the elevation changes in the road make it fun at night while driving 40+ w/o the POS factory fogs which I personally use to highlight what's beside the road. Will be replacing someday all lighting with either EDM and PIAA lighting (both fog and driving) or just the fog and driving with PIAA. I drive with my regular h.lights unless driving the canyons at night at any speed then debate between h.and fogs or brights.- Documented: The 1970 FF-1 Project car...
