  1. Yep, if you can get a protune somewhat locally, it's definitely better to go that route. The nearest tuner to me is a few hours away, and I rarely make it further than 30 minutes from home lol
  2. I actually installed an 04 STi ECU in mine, along with the STi intercooler, and VF39, and turbo back and used the AP to tune for STi stage 2, which claims for even more power.
  3. They will swap right in as long as you change the rear top hats over. Only the 95-99 have the same top hat bolt pattern, the 1st gen Legacys were different in the rear.
  4. Whole bunch of good info here: http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/topic/110178-offrood-faq/
  5. Lol, I was going to say something when you mentioned that in the other thread. I offered more money many times to get things moving, and it never made a difference. I hope it works out better for all you guys.
  6. Just received mine today. Took a a while to get here, but it looks decent. Can't wait to get it installed. Might be a while as I'm gearing up for an EJ swap.
  7. I'd personally remove the clamps, move them up higher, and then use a big zip tie to keep the boot sealed up.
  8. I've heard of this stuff a few times. I have had 3 with a 2" lift and never had an issue. Guess I just got lucky.
  9. Yeah that's why I never got the car from him I was supposed to. 8 months was just too long to wait and not have anything be done, especially after I sent him a healthy down payment. He did give me a full refund though.
  10. I know, it's fun as hell. Any plans for a 6 speed swap? I loved that in mine as well.
  11. I've seen a lot of these, but out of all the subarus I've owned, I've never actually had any myself.
  12. If you get pugs or redrill some wheels and go to a 14" then you can fit about a 26.5" tire without trimming anything. That's similar to a 205 75 14. Some have fit 27" but you'd have to do some trimming.
  13. The VF39 definitely wakes these up. Man I miss mine.
  14. A 2" lift kit isn't expensive to make, or really that much to buy either. But there are not any different struts that bolt in to give more lift. You can buy King springs from primitive but they are over $400.
  15. Sheet metal. Pretty sure that another battery platform was removed from another car and tack welded into that spot, just like it'd be from the factory. You would have to lengthen some, but some may be able to be rerouted.
  16. What about relocating the battery to the opposite side? That's what was done on my brat when it was made fuel injected.
  17. This is not necessarily true. Undo the inner boot clamps and you'll be fine.
  18. The bit about the Foresters having a lower spring perch is only for the 98-02's. The 03-08's have a higher spring perch.
  19. I should add that 03-08 had higher spring perches in the rear if you wanted to run a bigger tire than 27"
  20. 98-08, but I think you will have to use your strut tops, or at least the rear ones. I know those were different.
  21. He is saying that you have not listened to the advice that any of us have given you. We have told you from the beginning what the problem was with you car, and you haven't done anything we have suggested, instead you want to throw money at it for other items, that still won't fix the original problem.
