My 99 Outback engine swap woes
Use the DOHC heads and intake manifold from the old motor, and use the EJ251 block.

how to *QUICKLY* remove 60 rusty/stuck/stripping timing chain cover bolts
bratman18 replied to idosubaru's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXI've found an impact driver works great for getting small rusty bolts and screws out without breaking them. Might be worth a try.

bratman18 replied to 1-3-2-4's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXYeah it's finally warm here, but the past few weeks have been colder than it has been in a long time. -20 at night without windchill, and below 0 during the days. And now we have no snow after 1-2" of rain yesterday lol

my 92 loyale build
The quality of the header he makes is very good. Very nice welds, and nice thick flanges. Can't wait to get my swap done so I can hear it!

TURBO VS NOT TURBO
All EA82 motors get cracks between the valves. It's more the cooling system and head gaskets that fail on the EA82t.

easiest way to remove rear diff on l series? lsd going in tomorrow :)
They can be a little tricky sometimes if the axles don't want to come of the diff stubs, but other than that it's easy, and I agree, you don't have to unbolt any suspension. Just unbolt the diff, and then lower it and slide it off each diff stub. I've done this in the dirt on my back, by myself, several times. If you are concerned about the weight, use a floor jack to help.

cross frame- question.
That's where the interesting grammar comes from! Good to know. At the most, you'll just have widen the holes in the crossmember slightly. Some people have theirs drop right in, others have to widen the holes a bit, and then the motor drops right in.

3rd gen LEG and BAJA hoods/headlights differences?

EJ22 Swap to GL trannmisson question.
Considering you are using an EA flywheel, you would use an EA polot bearing. The entire clutch kit is EA82 4wd. The only thing that is EJ is the engine.
