My 82 had a part similar to that... It was a splash guard for the distributor that hooked up to the air cleaner box and the bottom of the distributor area. The Subaru mechanics removed it from my car early on and wrote winter use only on it? Could that be a EA82 counter part part?

I second that motion! Tires and gears are a tradeoff. You need to figure out which you want/need. You really can't have both cheaply. Weld the diff and look for a "bigger" tire. I think studs would be great on everything but slickrock? I looked at some used aggressive studded 13" over the weekend. Too bad I'm looking for 14".

I think you'll need the little computer unit to talk to the carb, other than that I don't think you'll need too much computing. How are you planning to get fuel to the motor? Do you know what car the motor came out of? Glenn, 82 SubaruHummer 84 GL Mad Max 01 Forester

Kinda reminds me of some of those remote control cars that they build with the huge bumpers, so the kids can't destroy them. Put one on the back just to balance it out? Ok, my vote is sell it and fab something more appropriate.

I also have a whinne in my top gears. I can turn the noise on and off by accelerating or decelerating. It is not noticeable when I accelerate however when I let off the gas I can hear it every time? It has done this ever since I've had the car (3 years). Little disappointed with Subaru on this one... The car only has 60k on it. Whine, whine, whine... Glenn 01 Forester--5 speed

Check your bulb, I have the same issue with my 2001 Forester. If I move my blub/plastic bulb water cover, I can get the bulb to light. I have not been able to get it to consistently stay on though? I can move it from the back side and get it to work for a bit then it goes out again? I removed the bulb and reinstalled it but I get the same results? Hummm........ You can never own too many Subaru's. So what else besides a lift is on the horizon?

I was trying to see if this small sample would pass the "does this make sence test". This would make sence. When you break our numbers into production/day you begin to see the capacity of the factory. When you break it into an hourly production it you realize just how fast these motors roll off the line. If your really get board, you'll see they averaged around a half a motor a minute! A railroad service cart/speeder!:cool: These rims have a top shuuuuu! secret use! I have to use special lug nuts to reach deep enough to find my studs because the rims are so thick to get the proper offset. The drilling process was simple. Spent way more time checking and double checking than drilling.

Your dome light is probably the closest power source. Shouldn't be that tough to tap into. How are you planning on suspending the radio? What are you going to hook that into?
