girls, gambling, and debt...ah, vegas

There is a handful of Subie Folks in Vegas, you just need to find them. Take a long time and sort through the Members and you'll find there are more than you think.... Good Luck, Glenn 82 SubaruHummer 01 Forester -
There are some industrial tires available for 13" rims. There are some great tractor tires for 14" rims, but... There is no 13" Atv tire! However, you can get anywhere from a 25, 26, 27, 28 in an Atv tire. The problem you going to find is they are all on the 12" rim. None of the existing 12" rims will fit a Subaru. There is one size that is close, it's a 4 X 144 NOT a 4 X 140! You need the 4 X 140. The second problem is the 4 X 144 is a front rim only in that size so you won't be able to run the wide tires your thinking. You'll need at least an 8" rim to run the tires you want. The Justy up in Washington has custom made rims. I had to do the same. It's not cheap. None of your other options are....... Subisandrail's link to rocky mountain atv is a good start. I got my tires there cheaper than any other place. You'll want a minimun of a 6 ply tire because of the weight and abuse your going to be putting on the tires. I ended up using the Dirt Devil 26 X 12 X 12 because it had the deep lugs I wanted and the plys I needed and the size that would keep my gearing. http://usmb.net/gallery/albuo21 Been there done that, Let me know if I can help! My vote is on the fuel filters too! (two) However, I'd do a basic tune-up as part of putting it back on the road. Good luck, Glenn 82 SubaruHummer 01 Forester

Nice Wagon! Didn't "Little Roo" start life as a 1600? http://www.angelfire.com/80s/rooinater/mods.html You might find this helpful? Good luck, Glenn 82 SubaruHummer 01 Forester -
Your tranny may not like having larger tires:rolleyes: If you need clearance tires will give it to you. If you need hill climbing ability they will hurt you. Larger tires will increase your unsprung weight and test your shock/suspension more. Kinda got to assess your needs to make that decision???? I went with 26" tires on the Buggy to keep my gears for climbing. Glenn 82 SubaruHummer 01 Forester

I think it's funny! It will make people wonder if you shoehorned a big V8 in a Hatch? Show us the finished product when your done! Glenn, 82 SubaruHummer 01 Forester

That sounds like a COOL idea to me! A 4WD tube chassis wheeler! I wonder if it would work? Seems to me a Subaru would be a natural in sand and in the dirt. Why doesn't someone try it? Then let us know how it works? Hummm! http://usmb.net/gallery/albuo21?page=1 Glenn 82 SubaruHummer 01 Forester

My 01 Forester seems to be having cooling problems. I first noticed it when I was towing a light load up a canyon. Next I noticed it in the city with the A/C on? The heat gauge goes up to the 3/4 mark or higher. Then I turn off the A/C and do what I can to cool the car off. Why is this happening? Someone suggested that one of my fans (AC) may not be kicking in when it should? I noticed my r/h/s fan goes on when it gets hot. I have not seen the l/h/s fan on. Is the l/h/s fan suppose to come on with the AC? Any thoughts? Glenn, 82 SubaruHummer 01 Forester

Me thinks it will be back! Just like the last one, it's not going to Mexico or being shipped over seas somewhere. I'd bet it's not far from where it was last. I just hope your rake is treated well. The Subaru can take the abuse it may get. Good luck, Glenn 82 SubaruHummer 01 Forester

Ya....Whatever he said! Welcome. Glenn, 82 SubaruHummer 01 Forester

I'd admit Subaru has it's share of problems. It's not quite what it was years ago with the GL. I'd line up to buy another GL too! Mine served me well for the last 22 years and I expect it to serve me well for another! The newer Subies seem to lack some of the toughness that the old ones had but I still enjoy driving my Forester. There isn't much out there that fills that gap in the automotive industry. No car or car line is going to be perfect for ever. Good cars will come and go. Hopefully Subaru will earn back it's former reputation of being a tough go for ever 4wd car. I was driving home last night and I saw a small wagon with a Mitsubishi logo on the front hood. It appeared to be somewhat high off the ground for a small wagon. Is Mitsubishi trying to capture some of the Subaru Market with a small 4wd wagon? What did I see? Or was I hallucinating? Inquiring minds want to know... Glenn 82 Subaru 01 Forester

Welcome, I understand your situation, there is no one who cares about old Subarus where I live either. Around here the cars rust faster than they can make them! And my English is terrible! But take comfort, this board has all the answers to keep your old Subaru on the road! Glenn 82 SubaruHummer 01 Forester

Do it! Do it! Do it! Use a photo editor to see the results before you dig in with the cutting wheels. Mine had a tendency to catch fire when I was cutting it up, be careful in the galvanized areas. Do it! Glenn 82 SubaruHummer 01 Forester

Looking Good! An 82 Brat makes a good looking monster! What color are you going to paint this beast when your done? Keep up the good work! Glenn 82 SubaruHummer 01 Forester
