New owner looking for details
I basically use Castrol in all my stuff, oil wise. I dont skimp on the other fluids either. But it all comes down to personal choice and $. Theres a few items that should have no compromise tho. Plugs - NGK OEM thermostats and PCV. DO NOT use Fram for anything. WIX, Purolater or Napa for oil filters. Do not run on dry pavement in 4wd. You can shift on the fly in conditions that require 4wd.

Brat rear disk brakes
Yes, you can swap rear disc brakes from a EA82. Most came on the turbo models and some were on GL-10 models. No proportioning valve needed. Get the rotor, backing plate, caliper and rubber/hard lines and you will be good to go.

ea82 axle question
Yup, your right. I went back and checked the manuals. The chart I looked at was for all EA82's except for the XT with AT. Of course it would be the oddball The MT's are 23 spline. And that info is only available in the XT FSM.

98 RS STi Swap
Probably not going to get alot of technical info here. But a search on nasioc got me this. http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/search.php?searchid=2386295 Have to read thru some of the stuff to get to the info you need.

280zx N/A injectors in ea82t
I would either do the crush mode like Presslab was talking about or get a higher psi fuel pump to go along with the injectors and regulator.

280zx N/A injectors in ea82t
In the first link, he was using a RRFPR and chemicals(s) to clean the injectors. So those are the duty cycle rates of the EA82T inj. But why is there 2 readings for 100%? What are the duty cycle rates of the Z injectors? They have to be more than the EA ones.

280zx N/A injectors in ea82t
The EA82T injector flow rate is around 180cc. The 280ZXT is around 265cc. Not significant, but substantial. Need to get a higher FP rate going as stock is only 37psi. I have heard of the crush mod on recirc valves, but never on FPR's. I certainly wouldnt want to try that without the pressure gauge.

90 Loyale Tranny swap
If your going to make it 4wd, I suggest getting a donor car. Your going to need alot of parts of it. But converting it to a manual 5spd isnt that hard. Just make sure you get the tranny crossmember, speedo/clutch cable, pedal box and center console.

Need Advice-To fix or not to fix-Blown Front Differential
Turbone replied to JimmyJam's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXAre you serious? 491,000mi? On a 96 Legacy? If the tranny lasted that long, I would get a used one out of a wrecking yard (lower miles preferably) and drive it for a while longer. Is the engine getting tired or the body rusting out? Are there other reasons to junk it?

Mismatched Front/Rear Diffs?
Turbone replied to mulletkill's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXAre you kidding? I can swap out a rear diff in 1/2hr (if I dont drop it on my face:rolleyes:) A tranny swap will take a couple hours, at the most.

EA82T owners - what does your boost "feel" like?
Like a F-4 Phantom kicking on the afterburners :-p TD04 with WRX IC, Spider intake and 2.5in exhaust. I think if I gutted the DP, I might get even better flow.

Mismatched Front/Rear Diffs?
Turbone replied to mulletkill's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXThat will probably cause problems. I know with the old school stuff, if you have a 3.7 trans and use a 3.9 rear diff (and vice verse) it creates all kinds of binding.

Brat keeps stalling after adding motor oil
I've seen some EA81's run on as little as 1/2qrt of oil with no ill effects. You might have knocked a vac line loose if its stalling at idle.

I know its dangerous to think but...
Depends on where your from. But trying to lift one and put big tires on it is going to kill the fun factor. It will be absolutely gutless
