  1. I was out today at Evans Crk and it didnt take me long to break a rear axle cup. It might have been weakened from the previous trip out, but it still broke on the trail. 3WD cannot get me up 311 unfortunatly. And as for driving around on pavement with a welded rear diff? I dont advise it. I also toasted my tranny today, could be due to the fact I drive the rig to all the trails I off road on. I've put a few thousand miles on it with the welded diff and it finally killed the tranny.
  2. Headlight shouldnt affect the CD deck. But I would be putting a inline fuse to the deck. Might want to check all the wiring on that to see if its wired correctly. Power should be to the ignition and the yellow (most times) is constant power.
  3. I'm not 100% but I dont think any of the 80's 5spd's have a clutch ignition lock out. Sounds like the clutch is gone. If your able to pull the engine the replacement is easy. Others will say to pull the tranny, I prefer to pull the engine. It doesnt require any work heavy work under the car.
  4. I would chuck it. Aluminum contracts and expands with heat. That crack could get bigger. EA81 blocks are plentiful here in the PNW.
  5. Can you shift with the engine off? Does the clutch slip? Grinding? Could be that the clutch is toast. Or a worst case scenario.....the tranny is
  6. Theres a little more glass on his wagon than your SVX. I think thats a good price too.
  7. Looks just like mine. Tell you what tho, its a real PITA to take off all the time to get under the hood.
  8. I dont think length is going to matter. You will need to massage the tranny tunnel and have a driveline made to fit either way.
  9. Well, since your not getting any responce here, maybe this will help. http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1182495
  10. That pic is still in my slideshow screensaver:grin: What did you ever do with that unit?
  11. Yup, thats what it looks like:dead:
  12. It sure has the windows and roof line of a Hatch. Even the wheels look Subaru. But the sides have a line not on EA81's and the fenders have a flare thats not EA81 also. The side markers are usually on JDM stuff.
  13. It might be cheaper to buy some of those off-road vinyl seat covers. I would rather wheel in comfort than have a rash from hard plastic seats. Just another sign of old age I guess:rolleyes:
  14. I plan on removing my carpet also, but if you need waterproof seats.....thats too wet:rolleyes: Are you going to be wearing a bathing suit too?
  15. I havent a clue on the mileage of the 5spd D/R in my Hatch but it has to be well over 100K. It was transplanted from something else before I got it. But its mated to a Nissan T-Case and I havent had any problems with it on or off-road yet.
  16. Now, I would never do something like that on purpose:rolleyes:
  17. Holy cow Jared, thats some rough stuff. Is there going to be anything left of your rig to bring back to WA?:-p Your going to think the stuff we got up here is boring after all that;)
  18. I'm sorry, would you 2 please re-read the title on this thread? Its about a run up to a local ORV place that a group of us (Tha Hatch Patrol) have been going to for several years now. There was nothing stated about it being a strictly Subaru run at all. Yeah, your n00bs and all, but if you knew the history of some of the members that have been here for a while, you would see that they have been wheeling hard core Soobs for a long time. And have set the standard (quite high at that) for doing major mods for off-roading our Soobs. We need a beotch slap emoticon:rolleyes:
  19. Thats weird, I checked the link and it worked. Now it doesnt:rolleyes: Its all cool tho, theres lots of other links.
  20. Got this useing the search function. http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/search.php?searchid=381973
  21. Even tho its a GL-10, he never said it was a turbo. They did come without. And they never came stock with a turbo timer:rolleyes:
  22. I think all the ones that I have are 86 and newer, but I will take a look.
