  1. EA82T's are very quircky. It could be a leak in the intake, it could be a bad turbo unit. Once thats ruled out, start into the electical, swap out another coil maybe but check all the plugs first.
  2. Theres a couple of hidden bolts. Open the door and look above the hinges, theres one there and another in the middle. At the very back of the wheel well underneath on the pinch weld theres one, maybe 2. And under the front roll pan at the corner on the iinside theres one maybe 2. There is 2 behind the bumper, according to the FSM. The rest are obivious, right along the top edge.
  3. It could be that you broke the passenger side belt and its running on 2 cylinders. You will have to take the cover off to see if its broke.
  4. What was the temp gauge reading? Worse case scenario...... If the car overheated and the oil pressure dropped, its most likely you blew a HG. I know this from experiance:rolleyes: Just happened to my RX a couple weeks ago.
  5. Theres a couple down in your area, not sure of the names-but somone here should. You can also post in the wanted forum for parts, or let me know what you need, I just might have it:brow: Is it a auto? Do a search for 3at, you will get some needed info on them.
  6. Yeah, I believe they are in OZ. Your better off getting a lift from Ozified.com. PK can fix you up with the same setup.
  7. Let us know what you find out. Info about the car and what price if they are selling.
  8. I dont think theres anyone here that can afford the UW:rolleyes: Besides you. Are you going on a scholarship?
  9. Or possibly fuel filter. My 89.5 RX did not have the side or rear skirts. You didnt mention anything about the rear spoiler? Odd that it would have AC and not PS. Like to see some pics.
  10. Do you keep a fire extinguisher in the car? Its probably just a grounding problem. The dome lights are always having the contacts crud up and it just takes a good twist or wiggle of the bulb to make it work. Sometimes the contacts can be cleaned up with a emery board.
  11. For your information, rednecks dont have to mow thier lawns. The goats do it for them:D
  12. If it is a Turbo, there will be badging, decals or other markings denoting it. I think 80/81 was the last of the GL5's, after that they were GLF's. My first Soob was a 82 GLF, black of course.
  13. Has it run long after the gaskets were changed? It might just be burning off the residual.
  14. I think you answered your own question. Trash the old seat to figure it out.
  15. +1 on the Valentine. Pricey, but worth it. Any detector is pratically worthless in the city. If you race around city streets, you deserve the tickets anyway:rolleyes: The city cops use radar still, most cant afford the newer lazar units. Now, the hiways are a different story(State funded). When traffic permits and the flow is going better than the posted speed, you will be alright. Never exceed the limit alone, I always let someone else take point (for obvious reasons). Know the road. I know most of the hiding spots on our local hiways well and never speed when in these areas. They are really down on aggresive drivers in WA State now. If your cutting in and out of traffic, the fine is going to be much stiffer. And never exceed in a const zone. You better have a fat savings account if you get caught. Not to mention the safety of the people working on the road. Being impulsive will also get you. That little ricer next to you, racing his engine? Yeah, let him win. He will end up the loser with the "Blue Light Special" as the prize. Most of all, be safe and use discretion.
  16. They work quite well on Hatches. Got a set on mine:burnout:
  17. That was the first thing I checked. Actually, I checked to see if the screw had come out. It hadnt. Tyler, take the cap off and turn the engine over, have someone else watch the rotor and make sure it turns. If not, the timing belt on that side is broken. I did take a look at the transistor to make sure the plug was good, but there was no way for me to check it. But shouldnt there still be spark from the coil if the belts broken?
  18. Well, seeing how you never showed up:D I was making a run to Tex's and he lives about 5mi away, so I took a look at it the other day. No spark at all, so I threw my coil in, no spark there either. So I told him to get a PAP disty and try that. Again a no go. I checked all the fuses, they are good. So the only thing it could be now is the computer. Unless some other genius has any other ideas?
  19. Qman had this problem when he swapped a 2.5 into his Imp. I think it might have been computer related, but it might be a good idea to contact him and find out for sure.
  20. Which one?:-p Hey, I've been out with you a couple times this summer. I'm up for more:brow:
  21. If its Cal, forget about me bringing the Hatch:rolleyes: Just have to make sure the RX runs for longer than a 100mi this time:-p
  22. Keep us updated. What brand of head gaskets did you use?
  23. Got a problem with that. Its called Customs. Probably have to pay taxes on something like that also. Same with sending them south.
  24. They might think it was a conspiracy and that we planned on taking over the country or something. We would all be stuck in Customs for the weekend:rolleyes:
