  1. It's not the same Matt. You have to supply parts for them to fab your lift components? Hmm, very odd...
  2. Just tell the parts people that it is an '83 Subaru wagon with an 1800 and 2wd.
  3. 10mm, they size it by the fittings.
  4. The sender could be going bad. 6,000 kms is a bit much but not too much. Is the engine making noise? BTW, your first post was before 6am EST. Most people don't get on that early.
  5. Suggested is indeed 60K. However, they usually last much, much longer than that. If you can handle the inconvenience of the breakdown you can wait until it breaks. Usually better to plan for a repair than a break down. These are not interference engines so nothing will happen to the engine if the belt breaks. If you plan to replace the belts before they break you should also consider replacing the waterpump, oil pump seals, cam seals(2) and maybe even the front main seal. These are all under the belt and will probably amount to another $100.00 in parts alone.

And you would need to do this why? Have you measured a Subaru track vs a Toyota track lately? 58" is the magic number. You'll need a late model rear diff to match the track. Yeah I thought about it a bit. I currently have an Isuzu rear axle in my Brat. Lot's of travel, ARB, rear disc brakes, what more could a Subaru owner want?
  7. The front seal is replaceable. If you have a used one available that will work just the same. But, you may end up in the same boat with that one eventually as well.
  8. Saturday is lookiong a bit tough for me. We are looking at 10-12 hours on Friday night. If it's 10 I'll so up late. If it's a 12 hour day I won't get out until 10:30 am. By the time I get up there and find you it will be noon. I'll let you know Eric. K
  9. See your post in the marketplace. Weld it up and be done!
  10. Those pics were right after the Hatch pulled him out of the hole. He blew up his trans I believe.
  11. Explain the late model 2.2 then!
  12. Incorrect Brian, sorry. The bars are there for blocking purposes when the seats are not in the truck. That is why when they quit putting them in the backs in 1986 here in the states the bars remained. Their position even changed slightly inboard I believe.
  13. I may have a spare pump laying around, I'll check and let you know.
  14. Here's the link... http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/photos/showphoto.php?photo=8234&sort=1&cat=500&page=1 BTW, Jaws, you live near Browns point? My nephew got married there and I used to go there alot as well.
  15. Either the clutch disc is spent or the plate has lost tension. Either way it sounds like it is time for a new clutch set. Or, have you had the flywheel turned lately?
  16. The front suspension and brakes are from a Legacy. The struts/shocks are indeed KYB GR-2's. The front springs are Legacy as well. I can't be certain if the rear springs are XT/6 or wagon. I tried the Honda front spring mod and couldn't compress them so I took them off. Not to mention that it was another 4 or 5" taller than now.
  17. Geoff, there is a blue '85 GL hatchback and a rust colored '80 or s Hatchback as well. They both have hatches and seats. The '80 has a slanted center radio console. Both have the side glass and all brackets should be intact. One of them should also have an EA81, if you wanted to upgrade. Just need to change the bellhousing I believe. Kind of funny that you end up with a Hatchback isn't it. Now you just need to get a 4WD and a lift, LOL
  18. Got the parts together for the 1.8 to 2.2 upgrade. The '93 Impreza L is getting new('96) 2.2, rear sway bar, STi ver5 suspension with whiteline springs, WRX take offs and new tires. Then the boy will get the ody work and paint. Should turn out nice when we get it completed. Then, we get to play with the '96 Brighton-2.5RS upgrade!!

Same platform. It will fit. It will do nothing for offroad. You need a LSD not a VLSD.
  20. Nice! Looks like a fun area. I am itching to get out again and play with the toy(mine and Eric's).
  21. I would suggest that you check them after each wheeling trip. After the first five times for sure. Then after every five or so after that. Anyone that does this type of modification to their vehicle needs to understand that they just made a high maintainence vehicle. This requires special attention and servicing by you on a constant basis. Your safety and the safety of others depends on it.

What ORV park is near Renton or are you at school?
  23. They don't pull. They give you a 30 day warranty for returns. A comp test will be tough to do there as they have removed the batteries and do not allow them out in the yards.
  24. One side will have a plastic cover over the pin, I believe. Remove that cover and push to that side. It should pop right out.
