  1. When I told Caleb it was snowing here, he started swearing(and sweating) saying he had to turn the AC on cause it was in the 80's that day. Glad I'm in the NW:D Rob
  2. Like Caleb said, I mentioned it around 1230am on MSM. Obviously I wasnt up at the crack of dawn. Well, the kids were. Its like X-mas to them:santa: Rob
  3. Ditto what Calebz says. I had a 84 Turbo wagon that did the same thing on the freeway. Turned out to be the module in the disty. Rob
  4. Lets go get it muddy:D It needs to be properly christined. Rob
  5. Why, with a Subaru Time Machine of course:drunk: Rob
  6. Uh, you did check the fluid level, right? Could be something simple, like a vacuum leak. Dont be so quick to write off your Moms car. Rob
  7. I would try another turbo unit, maybe from an EA82T. Sounds like the typical bad turbo oil seal. Rob
  8. Razz, if I read your earlier post right, you said you kept the diff that was in there from the auto (3.7). The 4spd ratio is 3.9. You might be having some serious problems shortly, with the tranny or diff or both. Rob
  9. That looks great Tex. I would really like to see how you did the intake, debating wether to keep or sell the one I have. Seeing how Im going to be getting a RX as soon as my coupe sells. Rob
  10. Go to the BYB web site. www.ausubaru.com Look at some of the lifted 4dr's that the guys have down there. You may want to get yourself a 3" lift for it. Rob
  11. WOT for 3mi doesnt sound like much but, I bet that turbo got plenty hot! You might have fried the cat, if you still have one. Rob
  12. Both rear axles on a 4wd have roll pins in them, just like on the front. The exception is that they are pinned on both ends, meaning that if you pull the pins out and elevate the tire you can remove the axle easily. If you practice, it should only take 5/10min to do the job. I have driven over 250mi with both my axles in(welded diff) on the freeway, but I have a real short wheelbase. It didnt seem to effect anything at all. Call me lazy :moon: Rob
  13. Yup, thier different. It will have more codes to it also. If its a reman, I hope it has the light. The most common problem, and from your discription of whats happening with yours, is the EGR valve. Maybe check this out, see if the hoses are ok and if its working properly. Rob
  14. I would like to know how you balance a turbo? Rob
  15. You had to have seen Qmans 84 GL-10 Coupe, Richie. Rob
  16. Why screw around? Just do it the right way, lazy bones:brow: Rob
  17. Skeet, your twisted:-\ Rob
  18. Love that endearing term for San Berdo. I was a Mt. Rat for many years, Lk. Arrowhead and Running Springs to be precise. Lots of great 4xing up there. Rob
  19. :boohoo: :boohoo: :boohoo: Maybe by the time snow flies, I'll get my shiznit ready/done. If I can stop procrastinating:banghead: Rob
  20. I have an adjustable holder in my 86 Turbo wagon. Its on the center console between the e-brake and driver seat, it just fits. Of course its a 5spd PB 4WD, so theres no D/R lever to get in the way. Rob
  21. Yes Brian, its time to get another Alt. I've been going thru the same scenario with mine. Out of all the parts I have, my 86 Turbo wagon is on its 4 Alt in a about 5 months. I have checked into parts for rebuilding, its about $55+/-. We'll see what GD comes up with on his source for a rebuild amount. The older the Alt, the more sensitive the innards are, and they go dead quick and easy. The EA81 Digidashes actually have an alarm on them when the voltage goes squirrley, but you need to shut down fast before its toasted. Everyone also needs to be looking at the Chevy/GM Alt's(from an earlier post) for a higher amp replacement too. Rob
  22. No Caleb, not your old wreck;) Its the 84 Turbo wagon I stripped. Rob
  23. Unfortunately, I have work to do. Besides, whats more fun(almost) than 4Xing? Cutting up an old Soob wagon:headbang: Rob
  24. PoorMan, by using the MMO you probably loosened up some debris and blocked an oil passage. This is kind of common. I would suggest changing the oil and using a 20/50W oil. Something similiar to this happened with a 85 wagon I had. Used MMO with a fresh oil change and ran it for about 500mi. It clattered still, so I changed oil again with another bottle of MMO. It seemed to help and after a couple 1K, I did another oil change and the clatter was gone. Results will vary tho, and theres no quarentees. Rob
