  1. Not that hard, just not as easy as disc. Buy hardware kit. You may not need it, but it's better to have in case you do when all is apart and you can't go get it. The springs and the metal discs are what may be needed, Back off the adjusting screw so the pads are not pushed up against the drum. Have 2 m8x1.25 bolts about 2 in. long available. If the drum doesn't come right off, use the bolts in the threaded holes to push them off. If the drum is still hanging up as it comes off, back off the adjusting screw more. Get FSM from New Gen FAQ sticky. 2nd page under my name. Needle nose grip pliers are great for pulling the springs into place, unless you want to buy the tool to do it. O.
  2. No fuss 00-04, possibly 05. 06 up was drive by wire so harnesses are different in addition to AVLS ( variable valve lift) FSM is available in Bew Gen FAQ sticky above. 2nd page under my name. O.
  3. Nothing will work long term until you pull the pin, clean it and it's mating hole thoroughly, then grease it. Some things cannot be sprayed and expected to work well. O.
  4. First pull the inlet line from the filter under the hood and crank. If no fuel, check the fuses in the accessory panel and then the relays under the hood. SBF 2 and 4 must both be good for fuel. It may not be the pump. O.
  5. This link is a large complete pdf of manual. It is not broken down into sections. P205-08 are diagrams etc of valve assemblies with torque settings. P 248 has the settings and sequence. http://people.csail.mit.edu/ilh/vacation/ O.
  6. If they are Subaru wheels, the offset will be ok, but they may rub on the perch. Do as wtdash says and try the rear wheels. I am suprised that you didn't get rubbing with the 205/70 on the legacy. Are they on std struts? O.
  7. A smaller width tire gives better grip in snow , ie 205 vs 225.. The torque is concentrated onto a smaller patch. I run 205/60/16 as a winter size and 225/45/17 in the summer. O.
  8. Get the spring clips for TOB from dealer. They don't come with the kit. O.
  9. ^+1 Cobbled meaning EJ25 short block, then heads and intake from the SOHC. Not sure what compression ratio you'll end up with O.
  10. They are interchangeable. If you are doing a valve grind, it won't hurt to keep the valves in order but not necessary. O
  11. Report back in 90 days to see how the finish holds up. Any protectant as a final finish? O.
  12. $37 plus shipping from SubaruPartsForYou. 13230AA160 My dealer wanted $49 plus sales tax. O.
  13. Once you delve into the engine work, it becomes a matter of personal preference. In this case, I am one of those that feel it's there for a reason, so I keep mine on. O.
  14. Check opposedforces.com. From what I see the diiferentials are the same from 98-07 in Forester, 98-99 RS Impreza 96 up to at least 04 in GT Legacys and OB, including those with auto. Double check my eyesight. O.
