  1. The torque spec should be listed in your owners manual in the section about changing a flat tire. The manual for my Legacy says the spec is 58 to 72 foot pounds.
  2. well it all depends, they route I took today ended up being a 9 hour drive.
  3. I'm home now, I went back through Alturas instead Susanville which save me about 45 minutes. It was nice seeing you guys again and that was some good BBQ subieman.
  4. It looks like the SOA Part number is 31232GA040. My source also shows a 31232GA082 but Legacys and Imprezas are also listed with that number so I'm guessing this is the boot for the power rack.
  5. oh, did I find a place in a bad part of town? Should I keep my toolbox in my room?
  6. I'm at the Quality Inn at the corner of Plumb and Virginia. I'm going to cll Jibs here in a little bit.
  7. Hey I'm in town now. Typing on a laptop sux
  8. Hey I haven't gotten a PM from you yet.
  9. Are you using MS to handle you ignition system or are you letting the stock ER27 ECU to run that? If you are using MS, hard is it to make MS talk to a Subaru crank angle type distributor?
  10. take the inspection plate off of the top of the transfer case. You will then need to remove the shift fork. After that take off the tail housing which includes the output shaft. Then you will need to take out the drive gear that on the main output shaft of the transmission. The nut that holds that gear on usually takes a thin-wall socket to get it off. It's 32mm socket if I remember right.
  11. okay I'm heading down to Reno. I'm leaving on Thursday the 1st and staying that night in Klamath Falls to catch up with some of my college friends that are still stuck there. I will then head down to Reno on Friday and stay Friday and Saturday night and leave Sunday morning. If any of you guys want to meet up PM me some digits.
  12. Did you hear any bad noises before this happened? Check your front axles; if one of them failed the front diff would send all of the power to that side. Also check the splines of the front hubs because they can strip out. Another possibility is some kind of failure of the front diff itself. I.E. a broken gear or stub axle. It's also not unheard of that a stub axle will pop out of the front diff.
  13. You wouldn't need a machine shop to do the counter sink. Any good hardware store should have a 60deg countersink with a large enough diameter. Then you would just need a decent drill press.
  14. hey what hotels to you guys recromend. It looks like I'll probably be in town June 2nd and leaving Sunday. I don't have to be back to Work until the following Tuesday. I'm also planning on staying Thursday night in Klamath Falls and seeing some of my college buds that are still around.
  15. I've seen an EA82 hold up to the Tach being pegged for long enough that the cat melted down. After that there was too much back pressure to keep the rpms up. We were trying to kill the engine, crap occurs I guess.
  16. Oh come on now, quit tempting me into Driving down there in my GL instead of my Legacy. Well, that's if I do make the trip.
  17. 1. There is a little notch cut into the lip of the inner cover about 0 degrees. 2. okay, with the flywheel pointer lined up with the middle of the 3 CAM timing marks. Set one of the make on one of the cam gears at 0 degress and set the mark on the other gear at 180 degrees. But with out the inner cover marks to line up with, you may still be off a tooth or two. 3. 1, 3, 2, 4 How badly is the center inner cover melted?
  18. I've just have too much crap to do this weekend, count me out this time.
  19. When were you planning on this? I was thinking about running down to Reno for my vacation later this month.
  20. Hey I thought I would pass the word on to you guys that the Oregon State Fair is being held from 8/25 to 9/4; so if you guy want to you can catch it either coming or going. It's In Salem and if I remember right the fairgrounds are not to far off of I-5.
  21. They must of change them then. A couple of years back, I tried to fit a sway bar from my friend's 98RS and it would not clear and there was an obvious difference when we compared his to a legacy sway bar.
  22. Legacy sway bars have additional bends to clear the spare tire carrier, that impreza sway bars do not have. The latest generation of Impreza swaybars may work but I have not looked into this.
