Whats in there????
Good luck finding one, and when you do better make sure your wallet can handle it. Expect to pay in the $300 range. Also, if I find one.. the last thing Im doing is shipping it off... it'd go in my Legacy ) -Brian

strut replacement and cost
Ah... fish I miss fishing..... But yeah, hit up a junkyard. In anchorage there arent many though, not that you can just wander into. Check the marketplace as well, maybe you can find somebody that has a parts car and can sell you the entire assmebly cheap. Shipping might suck, but far better than a new setup, or the cost of labor and parts at any shop. -Brian P.S. WHATEVER YOU DO!! Do not goto AAA-1 Subaru.

subed up, oh, suped up ea81...
Search the internet for Aviation webpages. There are plenty of modified EA81's available for use as small aircraft engines. They fabricate everything from cranks to complete custom MPFI head's/intake. A few that come to mind are Ram Engines and Sub4 heads. The sub4 heads are outrageous tho. -Brian

suspension lift not body
I have my suspension adjusted all the way down cause camber is my primary pet peeve. But the 3" lift blocks fix any travel problems I might have I wouldnt recommend having your front suspension adjusted all the way. It does add more stress to the axles and more camber issues. Its really not worth it for an extra 1" of clearance. However, the rear end can be lifted without any problems at all. -Brian

What do you think of this color? (for the 78)
He's right Steve. Our California sun will turn krylon into Corn Flakes in a year or two. A proffesional clearcoat will keep that paint looking great for a while. Otherwise, its looking real good. -Brian

South-central Alaska soob meet-n-greet?
Uhm... i think you take Church Road all the way to the end. I believe it T's into Fishhook Road, or something like that. Take a left at the T, and travel a few mile's. Its out that way. I believe its called Wasilla Auto Salvage or something. The guy there let me and my friend roam back there a couple times. We counted 7 brat's. All of them were too far gone to be repaired, or salvaged. He had a few EA81 wagons, sedans and hatchs. Not many EA82s or any legacy's. This was all 3-4 years ago, so alot could have changed. I think he's listed in the Wasilla business directory, so it shouldnt be hard to locate. Search for Auto Salvage. -Brian

South-central Alaska soob meet-n-greet?
Ive been screwed by AAA-1 as well. I try to tell everyone I know to stay far far away from them. Parts are hard to come by. I do know of 1 junkyard in Wasilla, but not any in Anchorage. Although I havent lived there in 3 years, so things might have changed. -Brian

I'm back for now....
Definatly. What went kaput on the other computer?? Mac's arent that bad, should be fine for USMB stuff. -Brian

search and no find.....????????
I do not believe they will fit. Any other 4WD Subaru's should though. I find its easier to convert to the 4WD Rear disk brakes if you can find the parts. -Brian

Built a roof rack (pictures)
That rack looks real good, and very sturdy. It looks pretty short, and you may not want to attatch lights directly to it. You might want to fabricate a light bar that you can adjust, that way your lights aren't restricted to the rack. Definatly a job well done! -Brian

woohoo. my new toy came in the mail!
Actually.... since I created that dead Banana .gif, i think it is I who have 0wn3d your banana's. Nice BoV, but why would anyone pay $300 just to expose boost to the atmosphere?? -Brian

Dual port EA81 found, info required please
Those pix arent working. But i'd love to see some pix of this motor you found. Your probably the only person out there that has one, or aleast who knows about the USMB and has one Finding parts are going to be hard, and lets hope both of those heads are still in real good condition cause im sure it'll be hard to replace one. Great find tho. -Brian

lift is done
Not sure if it applys to the 4", but on the 3" you gotta do this: Sounds like you got the rest of it taken care of without any problems. -Brian

My Old 1983 Subaru GL Sedan
Look for local wrecking yards, or junkyards. Often you'll find a place that will let you go back and take a look. Since its a 83 GL you can use the body parts from basicly any GL, DL or STD from the years 1981 to 1984... just as long as it has the same front headlight setup (some come with 2, 4 & even 5 headlights). If that front bumper is metal, you'll need to find another metal bumper. But 1983 GL Models should have come with plastic bumpers which are just as easy (if not easier) to find. If all else failes. PM Moosens I know he can get the parts you need. Probably brand spankin new with any luck. -Brian

This Crap Sucks!
TheSubaruJunkie replied to Subaru X's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXIF you paid $7200 for that 2.5GT, i say you still got a hell of a deal. Head gaskets arent all they're cracked up to be. Goto Napa and buy them, rent a engine hoist and get to crackin! -Brian

One LONG drive
I didnt get my total milage cause I forgot to enter a couple gas stops into my palm. But on the trip up, i know I averaged 27mpg I was able to make the trip back home in just under 10hrs. I got sick of driving real fast, and wanted to get home. Got lucky enough to follow a couple ppl at 90+ and made great time. Mike, you still have access to the usmb.net galleries, so if you have pix to share upload them there -Brian

Alright. WHich one of you pissed off Qman?

CD's with around 300 WCSS 6 Pics
I got my CD's yesterday as well. Didnt have time to look at them until today, but WOW! That camera is great. I think im responsable for some of those pix, but dont know what ones Both of my CD's worked. I put some of Noah's shots in my Gallery, you can find them in the Subaru Shows section. Right now they're just Legacy shots, but there are alot of images I need to resize before uploading them. If you'd like, Noah, I can upload all of CD 2 for the people who's didnt work. -Brian
