  1. Well, it sounds like you have a good start on it. There has to be a way to find out where he took the cars. Is there a local place that takes scrap? Maybe they can tell the cops that he brought the cars in. And for all you folks that want to do bodily harm to the perp, I just want to say that this creep needs to go to jail. Where he can end up being Bubba's Beeotch
  2. It sounds more like the DOJ came off the stub axle. Maybe there was no pin in it? It needs to be lined back up with the pin hole and pushed back on. Then replace the pin, and Lower ball joint (I assume), and you should be good to go.
  3. Theres no need to walk around on egg shells here. Lots of us have made "Faux pas" (Fr.), and if we dont step on any toes its ok  Intentional stabs and pokes usually are between people that know each other well enough to not cause hurt feelings Rants about certain things are exceptable I think, but it depends upon the topic. Eh, just my .000002
  4. Yea, see if you can get a salvage title for it. Please try and keep the car complete and not part it out
  5. Geeze, some people have all the luck J/K Glad you got it fixed.
  6. You should be ok, if you stay out of 4wd. I know the diff isnt much, but why take a chance?
  7. Somebody grab the digidash out of that sucker! Is the body all beat up?
  8. Wow, what a coincidence  It also has a blown HG, cracked dash. But its already got a 5spd.
  9. Basically, its just a labor intensive job. If you have done it before its not too bad. And are you thinking of the same XT I am?
  10. Thanks Brian. Well, those are ........different Good luck finding another one of those .
  11. Yea, I looked in your album and its not there. Can you give us a better link?
  12. Hmm, never heard of it yet. But its been known for a long time by only a few people that you can use Sodium Silicate to seal HG leaks. You can get it a good Pharmacy, or look around on-line for chemistry stuff. I wonder if this is what they are using?
  13. Its most likely you have some junk in the linkage. Get under the car and check to see if theres a rock or stick or other stuff in the tranny tunnel.
  14. Hmmm, I can weigh my Hatch tomorrow. Theres a scale about a mile away.
  15. I think Qman had some info on this, maybe if we can keep the thread on the top he will see it and respond. Or you could just email him
  16. In hoping not to sound to stupid here, but if you had a locker front end, how would you be able to steer? I know what happens to my rear end with the welded diff when I turn, so I can imagine what a locked front end would be like
  17. Timing belts, cam seals, main seal, water pump, oil pump kit. That should do it for the front. Might think about the rear main seal. Intake manifold gaskets. I guess you should just get the full gasket set and go from there
  18. Ditto's here on the Weber dieseling. Havent bothered yet to remedy it tho. I will try the timing and idle speed, and maybe flush the top end. Dave, sorry, but your suggestion is not a very penny wise idea right now. I believe the cost of high octane gas is over $2 a gallon in most places now And the Regular isnt to far behind
  19. Theres a screen on th end of a tube or hose. The manual doesnt specify or show it. You might have blown the screen off, or whatever was blocking the end. Is it still clogged after blowing air in it? The fuel seperator does just that.
  20. Thats a little guy, but it does fit nicely.
  21. I think you were right the first time with the engine type. So far I know of no one that has been pushing a EA81T at 18 to 22lbs of boost. That sucker would go thru the roof 14 to 16lbs is even pushing it. If you have plastic covers on the front of the motor, its a EA82T. Its a OHC with belts running the cams.
  22. The disty could be a tooth off. Or maybe you have the wires on the disty wrong? With the cap off, the rotor should be pointing at 11 o' clock (TDC). Rotation is counterclockwise, and the cylinders are numbered; 3 4 1 2 And the firing order is 1,3,4,2 Check this and report back, eh?
  23. Northguy, sorry to hear about the ordeal. I think UPS is even worse. They may get it there at the time they said it would be, but its to the wrong addy Brian, any Soob you saw in Ak when you were in school is long gone, eaten by the rust bunnies.
