  1. Yep it's that time of year again. Seems like every winter my EA82 starts producing mayonaise on the oil fill cap, the dip stick, and PCV system. What's going on here??? How bad is this crap? Should I just throw some SeaFoam in the crank case to absorbe the water and drive on? I'm not using ANY coolant so it's not that. So far I've just been dirving like normal. I know I"m not the only one this happens too.
  2. Yep, RAM rules and we've gone over this 1000 times.... nobody here wants to throw down that kind of cash to put one of those engines in a car.
  3. What's the demand from the EJ22 fuel system? Cuz that Napa fuel pump puts out 90psi @ 50gal/hour (not 100% sure on the gal/h) It's a pretty beefy pump. Puts out enough for the F150 v8... also puts out enough for the ER27 h6...
  4. Here's some things from a tech inspection list. Gotta pass tech inspection to get into most ORV parks and events. Even if you dont go to ORV parks or events these are good ideas - FULL size spare tire - Fire extinguisher must be mounted with in the reach of the seat-belted driver and extinguisher must be fully charged - Tow straps cannot have hooks attached - Tow strap must be 2-4 inches wide with a 10,000-pound minimum rating - Tow strap must be in good condition; no excessive tears, fraying or knots - Trail vehicle must have first aid kit - Working CB radio hand-held is OK
  5. Arch isnt one to brag but I gotta let you guys know it was below zero (and way below with wind chil factor) yesterday when he went out to get that pulley from the junkyard. Glad his effort is appricated and hope you get your rig up and going soon !_!
  6. Sounds like fun! Got your skid plate one? That usually saves you from SOME carnage Hope you get her together for the Mt. run. Sounds like all you realy need to do is fix the tranny and the exhuast stud. The rest would be gravy! Check the boots on them axles. Might have just got some sand up in a torn boot?
  7. I got a magnetic one that just sticks to your oil pan. Welcome to it as my Subaru gets the garage now Much easier install than draining the cooalnt in sub zero weather! :-p
  8. This mournings commute was just sick. Woke up to it raining and below 20 degrees.... felt like a typical winter mourning in Iowa rather than Minneosta (and I can say that cuz I'm from Iowa! ) Get outside and my KIA Rio looks like a glazed pastery. So I leave the door open and navigate it back 10 feet to to let the Subaru out! Busted the old poopenwagen into 4Hi and took off. Not even a slip or slid taking off on solid glare ice. Behold the power of cheese... I mean 4WD :-p Took 2 hours to make my 25 minute communte. Only got into 3rd gear twice the whole way. There was only one close call coming down a hill. Good thing I had plenty of space cuz I was sliiiiiiding while jokeying the brakes and clutch to actualy try and STOP. Can't wait for lunch break ...now if we'd just get some damn snow....
  9. Not around the twincities... we are too HOT for snow! Sure is a nice thick layer of ice over everything today; hope it melts off before tomarrow cuz this mornings commute was nasty!

    custom c.v's

EA82 axles are 2" longer.... as well as control arms and such? All that work to get upto stock EA82 suspension? Or am I missreading this information? Thx
  12. Timing is a funny thing.... I've been 180 off and had the engine running. Something to check I spose!
  13. Nice masking job; edges look good. Overall looks MUCH better than before. Good form sir
  14. YEEHAW Can't wait to come over and ride in it.... mabye drive it? Too bad I'm stuck at work late redoing some crap becuase someone else messed up.... Been a while coming but I knew you would do it.
  15. Get a cat :-p Swap on Honda Accord front sruts to the rear and you will gain some stiffness and height. (do a search for which year specificly) Bash / cut whats rubbing so it no longer rubs. If you have 4WD adjustable suspension then crank that in just a little untill you stop rubbing. There's some possible solutions
  16. Sounds like someone stripped the threads and re-tapped it for the larger size. This is just on one rotor right? Not both? Run the old size bolts; not the larger one. Take on of the proper bolts to a hardware store and match up lenth, thread pitch, and grade. Unless you got a junkyard nearby? Then you could jsut go get all the bolts you need or even another hub and the bolts.
  17. Here's a rough idea from SubaruBrat http://www.subarubrat.com/6lugconv.htm I prefer redrilling the rims becuase I'm lazy
  18. It adjusts as needed.... to a point. The minor difference here does not breach that point.
  19. Here is a thread for ya: http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/showthread.php?t=25873 Should give you a good idea what year/make/models to be looking for rims off of.
  20. I think it would be going into the buggie currently under R&D !_!
  21. For sure unless you wanna build your own ECU :-p Everything the ECU controls you are swaping onto the EA81.... what quirky issues?
  22. Sounds like SOA custy reps need to get on the USMB so they can get their facts straight!
  23. You'll have a tougher time finding big tires for 13" rims then you will finding bigger rims
  24. 88xt6joe just moved there; hit him up! Great guy to hang out and kick Subaru tires with
