Xt Front Axles
Well the axle is intended to be a light press fit through the bearings in the spindle. Some people tap on the joint to get it through. Some people will take the hub off the rotor and use stack of washers and the nut to pull it through. As for me and a couple of other , we'll us a puller that similar to the one made by Subaru. Here's a pic of mine.http://usmb.net/gallery/album117/tool

RX Chassis+302/C6 combo and RWD.
Well this Is what I would do different. Instead of a C6 I would go with a C4, the are smaller, lighter, and can be built to handle that much horsepower. For the rear diff, replace the R160 with a R200 from a 300ZX. You might blow one of them up but it would be an instant meltdown like it would be with a R160. Also don't be surprised if you end up twisting the Unibody even if you welded a ton of steel to the existing chasis.

WRX parts on '97 Legacy wagon
GLCraig replied to KDUB's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXIf you're looking for low buck upgrades, start with a better rear swaybar. I replace the 14mm that was on my legacy with an 18mm off of an outback. It made a world of difference and I only payed the $15.00 for it at a junkyard.

Suggestions on rear brake adjustments
what works pretty good for an adjuster tool is to take a 1/4in Drive 3/8 six point socket stick the square end over the adjuster and use a 3/8 allen wrench to turn the adjuster.

About to start my disc conversion: help
I just check my FSM, it dosn't show a proportioning valve anywhere in the brake system. Another thing that everyone needs to keep in mind is that the brake circuits are not split front and rear. The split is Left front Right rear and Right front left rear.

disty vac advance, on mpfi cars
Are you sure that both connections on the dist. cause it to advance? Typically the inner is for retard and the outer is for advance.

Attn:SubieGal or someone who knows her
I think Ratty2Austin still works with her at Carter Subaru in Seattle. You might want to send him an email or maybe even call up Carter in the morning and ask for her there.

Working towards a flush
I think you have a straight going not a flush, unless all of your subs are the same color then it's a straight flush. Still that rocks

cracked heads.
GRR, how many times must I post this? Here's a link to my copy of the TSB. http://home.comcast.net/~c.moe/heads.pdf Also on Turbo heads, the crack to be worried about is the one that forms where the exhaust runners meet in the exhaust port. When the crack opens enough, it exposes a water jacket.

What did I do?
It sounds like the retainer ring that holds the guts of the DOJ in its cup failed, or maybe even it was never put in in the first place.

is there a gasket for the asv
I think you're confusing the EA81 with the EA82. The ASV tubes bold to the side of the heads on EA82s

is there a gasket for the asv
since that's a pretty small gasket, you might try going to the parts store and getting some exhaust gasket material and make your own gasket.

I have a feeling that it's not an OBW but it could be a Legacy GT sedan.

1-800-Subaru?
My local Subaru actually has a very experienced parts department, well at least 2 of the people do. Here's a link http://www.lithiasubaruoregoncity.com/index.cfm?action=parts

Wheels HELP
if it's a 5 hole then it's either a legacy, Impreza, or it's had a 5-lug swap using parts from an xt6. If it's a legacy or an impreza you'll need to find wheels with a 5x100mm pattern with the correct offset.

problems shifting while running
Have you tried adjusting the clutch cable yet? Also inspect your tranny mounts and linkage.
