  1. 03-08 Forester, and 96-99 Outback give the most, and are about the same. It's the rear spring perch that causes the most restrictions, but both of those have higher rear spring perches than the 98-02 Forester rear struts.

  3. Usually takes more time doing it in the driveway. But in a garage, with a lift and all the tools at your disposal, it doesn't take long at all. Especially when you do that kind of work everyday.
  4. $500 is still wayyy too much. A new axle is $100 or less, and the knock sensor can be had for $20 off ebay, but even $100 or less from a parts store. The axle takes 20 minutes to install and the knock sensor take 10-15. So you were charged $300 for less than an hour labor, plus parts mark up.
  5. They'll look a little small, but not too bad. And it'll look about the same whether you use forester strut assemblies or Outback strut assemblies. They both give about the same lift. And no prob.
  6. Forester and Outback struts give about the same amount of lift. And that 2" rough lift estimate, is the full forester strut assemblies with springs. You're looking at 2-2.5" of lift using forester or outback strut assemblies.
  7. They are raping their customers with prices pike that. That is insane. Even if you buy an oem knock sensor, it's only around $100, and about 5 minutes to install. Same goes for the rest. Take it elsewhere. Or do the work yourself.
  8. As you said, Forester struts will be a direct bolt in. And it's 96-99 Outback struts that would be as well. Use the springs that go with the struts for best results. And you don't NEED the trailing arm brackets or the sway bar brackets, but it doesn't hurt to have them. I've never used them. I removed my rear sway bar all together. But if your just going for the look, and don't care about offroad suspension travel, then a sway bar wouldn't hurt.
  9. Everything I've seen and read says the phase 2 2.5 heads and the phase 2 2.2 heads are basically the same.
  10. Yes. 02-07 IMPREZA are easier. You can just bolt outback or forester struts right in. No need to drill or change out rear top hats. Just bolt the new strut assemblies right in
  11. Can you post more pics of the EA82 front bumper you have on your site?
  12. Yeah it has decent rumble. Nope, it's been in Maine since new I believe. And i added the rear wing and everything. And the exhaust was actually rust free and mint as well!
  13. Thank you! Got lucky to find this in my area, and it was terrible to start with, but rust free. The exhaust is custom. It has an ej22 swap and it has an inferno fab header, and then custom the rest of the way back, and goes up over the rear crossmember tube, and into a cherry bomb muffler, then has a 96 Outback exhaust tip.
  14. I plan on installing an overflow in my brat so this doesn't happen.
  15. Nice man. So jealous of the garage, and house for that matter haha. Congrats on moving in!
  16. They're 27x8.50 14 Grabbers on 14" Peugeot wheels. No rubbing. But this also sits on full ea81 suspension and front and rear crossmembers. And a little lift built in as well. So it's a bit different than a stock 1st gen.
  17. Scangauge 2 installed in my ej swapped Loyale. Makes it nice to know the exact coolant temp.
  18. 98-08 forester strut assemblies, or 96-99 outback struts. Trailing arm is the same between both. It's the trailing arm bracket that's different, and isn't absolutely necessary when lifting a Legacy.
  19. Ya know, none of us have a problem with the car. The car is cool. I love lifted OBS's. But when you come on here acting like what you have is some big secret, and not wanting to share info about your ride, it comes off pretty rude and uninviting. It's not a 10.5" lift. If you have 6.5" spacers on top of forester struts, then again, it's not different than what any of the other guys have done to theirs. Forester struts do not give you 4" of lift. Maybe 2.5" at the most. And you don't count tire size as part of the lift either, now maybe if you had said initially that you have 10.5" of clearance, it would have been ok. It's an awesome car, but you didn't re-create the wheel. Improve your attitude and you'd have a better response.
  20. Welcome, I'm in Jefferson. Be sure to check out the local Maine subaru forum as well. Mainelysubarus.com
